A word from the President:
I am very excited about the upcoming field trial season! We have a number of new clubs, and we have a number of old clubs that plan on running more trials.
Folks are thinking outside of the box. The Southeast Regions are working on new grounds and are going to run the Open National Championship on the Hoffman grounds beginning February 23, 2018. There has never been a walking trial held there before. It will be all wild and pre-released birds. They have also turned the drop zone into a great walking course. Many thanks to Ted Riley, Margaret and Earl Drew, Verlene Stephenson and many more who are working hard to preserve field trials in this area.
The National Amateur Invitational will be held at the drop zone beginning December 1, 2017. Margaret Drew will be the chairperson for this trial.
The National Amateur Championship will be held at Cutter Whiskey Farm in Ahoskie, North Carolina beginning February 2, 2018. Sharon Townley will be the chairperson.
The National Open Invitational will be held at Oakridge in Harrisville, Pennsylvania beginning November 17, 2017. The chairperson will be Joe Camissa.
There will be a lot of other trials and championships in addition to the above. Once again, I will waive the dog tax for new clubs. This will help a new club with their finances. If you can start a new club or help someone else with a trial, please do so.
Let’s see how many we can put on this year. Thanks to all who help make all of this possible.
See you on the line!
